There WILL be a family picnic this summer thanks to all the efforts of Pam Heath.
Here is an excerpt from the E-Mail Pam sent me:
“…two years ago I approached my mother and my aunts to start a family reunion. We all get busy in our lives and I thought it would be a nice way to keep in touch. I thought it went well the past two years and would like to expand it and invite some more relatives to join us. So, I have reserved a shelter, and would like to extend the invitation out to the Pendleton relatives.
The shelter I reserved is at the Holland Town Hall, shelter 2. The date is Sunday, August 2nd, 2009. Take hwy 53 north from La Crosse, about 10 miles, take the McHugh Road exit (county MH.) At the stop sign, turn left, go about 1 mile to the town hall on the left, turn in the second driveway just past the shelter house.
Time is 10:00 am to about 3 or 4 pm.
They have slides and swings for the kids, and horse shoe pits, for those who wish to play and flushable toilets!!!!!!!!!!
THINGS TO BRING: your own meat to grill, drinks, and table service, and a dish to pass, and lawn chairs.
I will have grills there for anyone to use. Hopefully we will have a nice sunny day…
…I am also looking for a picture of my grandpa, Edward Pendleton (13), with his brothers and sisters at any age if someone could send me a copy.”
Please spread the word about the picnic to your families. Let’s try to make this a success. Also, please bring any pictures that you would like to share.
If you have any questions, or would like to forward some family pictures, please feel free to contact me at PaulPendleton@comcast.net.
Pam [Roberts] Heath (15) is the daughter of Peggy [Pendleton] Roberts (14) who is the daughter of Edward Pendleton (13).
